1. Neptune Benson Recalls Delta Ultra-Violet Generators For Pools and Spas Due to Fire Hazard:

Recall Date: December 9, 2020

Recall Summary


Name of product:

Delta UV EA-4H-10 ultra-violet generators installed in swimming pools and swim spas


Hazard:

Water can leak within the generator, causing excessive heat build-up in the area where the power cord connects to the body of the generator unit, which can pose a fire hazard.


Remedy:

Replace

Repair

Consumers should immediately unplug and discontinue use of the generator and contact Neptune Benson for a free inspection and repair or replacement.

About 4,560

Description:

This recall involves Delta UV EA-4H-10 ultra-violet generators installed in swimming pools and swim spas to sanitize the water.  The majority were installed in Endless Pools.  The brand and model number can be identified from the manufacturing plate located on one end of the generator’s steel tube.  They are silver and black in color and measure 4 inches in diameter and 25 inches in length.

Incidents/Injuries:

The firm has received 92 reports of incidents involving overheating, melting or burning of the generators and the area around the generators.  No injuries have been reported.  


Sold At:

Neptune Benson sold the generators to pool and spa commercial customers from August 2016 through February 2020 for about $320.  Prior to August 2016, the generators were manufactured and sold by Delta UV Corporation to pool and spa commercial customers.

2. Spirit Halloween Recalls Children’s Flashlights Due to Fire and Burn Hazards:

Children’s flashlights


Hazard:

The batteries in the flashlight can overheat, posing burn and fire hazards.


Remedy:

Refund

Consumers should immediately take the flashlight away from children, stop using it, remove the batteries and dispose of the flashlight; and contact Spirit Halloween for a full refund.

Description:

This recall involves three children’s flashlights that come with three or four interchangable light covers.  The ZAG Miraculous flashlight is red with the Marinette and Ladybug characters, the Ghostbusters flashlight is green with the Ghostbusters logo, and the My Little Pony flashlight is light blue with colorful ponies.  The date code 20-05-966658-SP1 is printed on the upper side of the flashlights.


Incidents/Injuries:

The firm has received four reports of the flashlight overheating, including one minor burn.

3. Fiskars Brands Recalls 16 Foot Pole Saw/Pruners Due to Laceration Hazard:

Recall Summary


Name of product:

Fiskars 16 foot Extendable Pole Saw/Pruners


Hazard:

The telescoping poles of the pole saw/pruner can separate, causing the poles to come apart and fall down and the saw blade and pruner head to drop, posing a laceration hazard.  


Remedy:

Refund

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pole saw/pruners and contact Fiskars Brands to receive instructions on how to destroy and dispose of the product in exchange for a full refund.

Description:

This recall involves Fiskars 16 foot extendable pole saw/pruners with model numbers 9463, 9440 and 9441.  These pole saw/pruners are lawn and garden tools that extend from 7 feet to 16 feet and are used to cut high tree branches with either their pruner (for smaller branches) or their 15-inch hooked wood saw blade (for larger branches).  The blade is secured to an oval-shaped fiberglass and aluminum telescoping pole set that locks into place through a double-locking system consisting of two orange c-clamps and a black and orange lock and pin mechanism in each of the upper and lower pole assemblies.  They have an orange and black pole.  “Fiskars” is printed on the pole.  The model number is printed on the UPC code on the pole.

 


Incidents/Injuries:

Fiskars received two reports of the poles separating and falling.  Two laceration injuries requiring stitches have been reported.

4. Burley Recalls Child Bicycle Seats Due to Crash Hazard:

Name of product:

Dash® X FM child bicycle seats


Hazard:

The reclining plate that holds the child bicycle seat in place can detach, making the child seat unstable and can cause the rider of the bicycle to lose control, posing a crash hazard.  


Remedy:

Replace

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Dash X FM child bicycle seats and contact Burley to receive instructions on how to identify and dispose of the recalled child seat and how to receive a free replacement child seat.  Consumers will be provided with a replacement Dash Bicycle Seat (Dash X FM, Dash FM, or Dash RM).

This recall involves Dash X FM frame mount child bicycle seats (model number 924004).  The recalled child seats have a serial number beginning in P924 and a lot number beginning in the letter D or E.  The serial number and lot number are located on the lower rear of the child seats, on the white label that has “BURLEY” printed on it.  “DASH X” is engraved on the rear of the child seat, near the top.

Description:

This recall involves allen + roth brand 62-inch wide, 5,120-BTU infrared quartz electric fireplaces, Lowe’s Item Number 466656.  The electric fireplaces are housed in a cherry wood-colored cabinet and have a thermostat and remote control.  An insert inside the cabinet simulates a wood-burning fire and provides heat.  “FEBO Flame Electric Fireplace Model Number ZHS-30-A” is printed on a white label on the back of the product.


Incidents/Injuries:

The firm has received 28 reports of overheating, fire, or smoke.  Several of these incidents reportedly caused smoke damage to the surrounding area and in one instance smoke inhalation.

6. Black & Decker Recalls CRAFTSMAN 10-Inch Corded Chain Saws Due to Laceration Hazard:

Hazard:

The chain saw can start unexpectedly without operation of the switch when the extension cord adaptor is connected upside down, posing a laceration hazard.

This recall involves CRAFTSMAN Model CMECSP610 10-inch corded chain saws with extension poles.  The chain saws are red with black and gray accents.  The name “CRAFTSMAN” is on the cutting bar and the motor end cap.  The model number CMECSP610 is on the label on top of the motor.  Only chain saws with date codes of 2019-40 through 2020-35 are included.  The date code is laser etched on the underside of the handle base.

Incidents/Injuries:

CRAFTSMAN has received one report of the recalled chain saw starting without operation of the switch causing a laceration injury to a consumer.

This recall includes the Western Chief “Abstract Camo,” “Alia Silver,” and “Sweetheart Navy” Light-Up Rain Boots in sizes 5-12 for toddlers or children.  The recalled boots are camouflage, silver glitter, and navy with hearts; include boot handles; and have a light up feature in the heel of the boot.  The rivets used to attach the handles are silver-gray in color.  “Western Chief” and the model numbers are located on the inside tag of the boot.  The recalled model numbers are T24121725P, T24121728P, and T24121729P.

The firm has received 115 reports of the boot handles and rivets detaching and 2 reports of children placing the rivets in their mouths.  No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves the Su-VGun and GrillGun propane torch guns manufactured for and sold by GrillBlazer.  The Su-VGun is a high-powered propane torch gun designed to sear meat.  It is black with “Su-VGun” printed in yellow on the barrel and measures 14.5 inches by 8 inches by 2 inches.  The GrillGun is a high-powered propane torch gun designed to light charcoal, wood grills and smokers and for other uses requiring a high-powered, clean burning propane torch gun.  It is black with “GrillGun” printed in yellow on the barrel and measures 21 inches by 8 inches by 2 inches.


Incidents/Injuries:

GrillBlazer has received 260 reports of propane leaking from the recalled torch guns, including three incidents that resulted in fires.  No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves all Yeti 25A Fast Charge power supplies with model number 98080.  The power supply is an accessory to and is used for faster recharging of Goal Zero’s Yeti power stations.  It comes with a standard 100-240v AC power input plug and a 15.6v High Power Port power output plug.  The model number can be found on the first line of the specifications on the product label.  The Goal Zero logo and “Yeti 25A Fast Charge” can be found on top of the power supply box.


Incidents/Injuries:

Goal Zero has received three reports of the power supplies overheating.  No injuries have been reported.
