April 14, 2025

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of Auxiliary Life Member Amy Copsey. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Copsey and Guy families and ask the community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Amy Copsey joined the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary in April of 1997. Over the course of her dedicated service, Amy played a vital role in supporting the mission of the Auxiliary, offering her time, talents, and unwavering commitment to the department and the community.

Amy served as Auxiliary Secretary for nearly half of her tenure, bringing exceptional organization, thoughtfulness, and care to her role. She was an active and respected member of numerous committees, often taking on leadership positions as chair or co-chair of the Bazaar, Catering, Membership, and SOP Committees. Her attention to detail and dedication to service left a lasting impact on every event and initiative she helped organize.

Beyond her service, Amy was a beloved friend and family member to many within the department. She proudly served alongside several of her relatives and formed close bonds with countless fellow volunteers. Her kindness, dedication, and spirit of community will be remembered always.

Amy’s legacy is one of service, compassion, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.

May she rest in eternal peace.
