The Unit Citation is awarded to any group of two or more fire department members who make up a company, sector, or team work group that has performed an outstanding manner worthy of recognition.  This award is for exemplary performance of duties by the group in overcoming difficulties or obstacles under unusual or adverse conditions in the completion of a task or duty.  This nomination will be by the Fire Department/Rescue Squad/ALS unit to which the personnel is assigned and must be on Department letterhead signed by a chief officer or president. A Unit Citation uniform ribbon and a station plaque will be presented at the SMVFA convention banquet.
