The Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic Lifesaving Award may be made to any member(s) of the Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman’s Association (SMVFA) who has been involved in a lifesaving effort at an emergency scene where the person(s) provided direct intervention (i.e. CPR, rescue efforts), that resulted in a life being saved.  The person cannot have succumbed to their injuries or medical condition.  This nomination will be by the Fire Department/Rescue Squad/ALS Unit to which the personnel is assigned and must be on department letterhead signed by the Chief Officer or President.  A lifesaving uniform ribbon and a station plaque will be presented at the SMVFA Convention Banquet.
