At 0735 hours, Station 9, Rescue Squad 7, Rescue Squad 3, EMS Station 38, EMS Station 79, and St. Mary's ALS were dispatched to St. Andrews Church Road and Wildewood Parkway for a Motor Vehicle Accident with One Trapped. Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7, and Chief 7B responded shortly after dispatch with 6 Volunteers.
First arriving units found a two vehicle head one collision with one person trapped. Crews immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicles and preparing for extrication. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on location and started working the passengers side of the vehicle to free the trapped occupant. With Rescue Squad 3 working the drivers side and Rescue Squad 7 working the passengers side, the driver was removed from the vehicle within 10 minutes.
The patient was turned over to waiting EMS and transported to St. Mary's Airport to meet MSP Trooper 7 for transport to the local Trauma Center. Rescue Squad 7 cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 0810 hours.
