October 26, 2018

This afternoon at approx 1400 units from Huntingtown, North Beach, Dunkirk, and the Medic Unit were alerted for the MVC with rollover on Rt-2 in Sunderland. En route Calvert Control Center advised update of one still trapped in the vehicle unconscious, Police on scene requesting aviation. Chief 1A arrived on scene first and confirmed 1 overturned, still in the vehicle unconscious with no pulse. Squad 6 arrived soon after and assisted in a rapid extrication of the patient who was turned over to waiting EMS unit from Dunkirk. M104 (PMIC Barnett and intern Thomas) arrived a minute later and found the patient to be in trauma arrest. Both providers immediately began to work on the patient with the BLS crews from 5 and 6. The patient was stabilized and within 10 mins patient was maintaining his own pulse. MSP trooper 2 arrived and worked some more with the on scene crews and then transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma with the CALS PMIC on board.
