Fire Boat Runs Multiple Incidents Over Weekend

Starting Thursday afternoon Boat 5 ran several water related incidents on the Potomac River and surrounding waterways. Saturday morning Boat 5 and Boat 6 responded to Kinsail Virginia for a Marina Fire. Upon arrival, units from Westmoreland County had contained the fire which involved a boat that had exploded and a pier fire. Two patients were flown by helicopter to trauma centers. Boat 5 and Boat 6 assisted with some mop up and containing a fuel spill.
On Sunday Boat 5, Charles Boat 6 and land based units responded to White Point off Bushwood Wharf for a boat accident. A boat hit the rocks and one of the occupants on the boat had a foot injury. Boat 5 arrived and transported the patient to Bushwood Wharf to Ambulance 597. Tow Boat US towed the boat back to Charles County and was assisted by Charles Boat 6. The boat was damaged and was taking on water. All other occupants on the boat were uninjured.
