Our department regretfully announces the untimely passing of beloved member Debi Higdon. Debi has faithfully served our department for 10 years as a Paramedic and EMT. In addition to our department, Debi has served the citizens of Charles County for over 25 years as a member of the Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad along with the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit. Throughout her Volunteer Career, Debi has mentored countless new EMT's and Paramedics through her extensive knowledge and experience. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Debi knew she would always make herself available to help out with whatever was needed either personally or professionally. Debbie is the mother to our Fire Lt. Michael Higdon and wife to Indian Head VFD Deputy Chief Wayne Higdon. Arrangement’s will be passed on as they become available. God Bless the Higdon Family. Wayne Higdon

YESTERDAY, JUNE 6, 2017 I LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. DEBI HIGDON, SHE WAS MY SOUL MATE. SHE PASSED AWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 5:30 AM. I WANT TO COMMEND ALL OF THE FIRE & EMS PERSONNEL WHO TRIED TO BRING HER BACK. SHE WAS ALSO A CARING & DEDICATED EMT AND PARAMEDIC WHO LOVED HELPING OTHERS IN NEED. SHE WAS AN ACTIVE FIRST RESPONDER UNTIL HER FAILING HEALTH SLOWED HER DOWN. OUR WHOLE FAMILY WAS INVOLVED IN THE FIRE& EMS WORLD. MYSELF, MICHAEL & ALEXIS APPRECIATE ALL OF THE WORDS OF KINDNESS AND CONDOLENCES FROM THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE AND FRIENDS WHO KNEW OR WORKED WITH HER DURING HER 30 PLUS YEARS OF HELPING OTHERS AND PUTTING THEIR HEALTH AND WELLBEING AHEAD OF HERS. DEBI HIGDON, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. WE WILL ALL MISS YOU.
WE WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO MISSOURI AND AS YOU REQUESTED, YOU WILL REST BESIDE YOU LOVING GRANDMOTHER.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE, YOUR LOVING HUSBAND , WAYNE .
