Volunteers Dump House for Serious Crash in the First Due

At 1444 hours Station 7, Rescue Squad 1, Rescue Squad 3, EMS Station 79, EMS Station 19, and St. Mary's ALS were dispatched to the 24600 block of Hollywood Road in Hollywood for a Motor Vehicle Accident with one on fire and one person trapped. Engine 72, Engine 73, Chief 7, and Chief 7B responded at dispatch with 10 Volunteers.
Within a minute of Dispatch, Chief 7, Chief 7B, and Engine 72 arrived on location to find a two vehicle collision with fire in the engine compartment of one of the vehicles. Chief 7 established the "Hollywood" Command in a driveway next to the accident scene. Several Members who arrived prior to the Engine worked to remove the occupant of the vehicle on fire as the Engine Crew stretched an attack line. The Occupant was removed from the vehicle and the fire was extinguished shortly after arrival. Crews from both Engine 72 and Engine 73 started patient care on the 3 patients who were all deemed trauma patient. Command requested Aviation for transport and also to have Rescue Squad 1 proceed to the scene to assist with patient care. EMS Units from Stations 19, 29, 38, and 39 along with 2 Medic Units arrived on location and took over patient care.
Engine 74 handled the Landing Zone at the Station for two MSP Aviation Troopers 2 and 6. The Ambulances transported the Patients to the Hospital who were all transported to a Trauma Center.
The Units from Hollywood returned to quarters at 1556 hours.
